5th RTB presents CGM to Merrill Marauders

April 4, 2022

ranger and veteran medal presentation

75th Ranger Regiment Association president Art Attaway’s fund-raising effort, has made it possible for a medal to be presented not just to the five Marauders alive in 2022, but also to one family member of the 13 Marauders alive at the beginning of 2019 – the 75th anniversary of their 1944 mission and beginning of the two-year session when Congress passed the legislation. Spencer, who died July 29, 2019, was one of those 13.  Some families do not want a ceremony.

A special thank you to Lt. Col. Chris Greene and the 5th RTB for arranging an active duty US Army Ranger to present the Congressional Gold Medals.

Stop the 22 Veteran Suicides a Day!

1-800-2733-TALK (8255)

March is being recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, however every month we should recognize the crisis of the Mental Health of our Veterans. It is so important to be aware of the increase in suicides within Special Operations and to not continue the stigma associated with mental illness. Please let someone know if you are struggling and never be afraid to ask for help. Please help us Spread Awareness and if you know someone who may be struggling, call them and let them know you are thinking about them and they are not alone.
